| Who
do we help?
PRIMARILY APPLICANTS WHOSE ACTIVITIES ARE BASED IN THE NORTH WEST OF ENGLAND
Organisations that can demonstrate that the funds are making a real difference, rather than being absorbed into an anonymous pool, no matter how significant the end result may appear to be.
Organisations that demonstrate both the highest standards of propriety and sound business sense in their activities. This does not mean high overheads but it does mean focused use of funds, where they are needed.
Funding that is to be operated as an individual project that can be ring-fenced as far as possible. Although preferred activities will be those that do not form part of current core operations, and which can be demonstrated to make a real difference, it is accepted that, in certain cases, they may be considered in exceptional circumstances. It is most unlikely that a new start up project will be funded if it has already commenced.
Smaller Donations – Acorn Fund
We do have a fund set aside each year for smaller donations, which we call our Acorn Fund and donations from this fund will be between £200 and £1,000. This fund is now administered in conjunction with the Community Foundation. For applications please refer to their website, via this link Community Foundation.
Areas of Activity
Artistic development, both on an individual and group level
Groups/Activities that are not eligible
Please read this list carefully and do not apply if you fall within any of these categories as it will only waste your time and the Trustee’s time.
